I had so much fun creating these fathers day treats.
The first batch was a mix of chocolate and plain
rice krispies, dusted with cocoa powder and
powdered sugar. Oddly enough strawberry
rice krispies have been on the brain lately, but
when I got to the grocery store they did not have any
flavored marshmallows. Time to think quick...fresh
strawberries?? maybe. I could cook them down with
sugar and a little lemon juice then gently fold them into
the melted marshmallow. I looked over and saw gelatin packs,
right next to the marshmallows. So many flavors to
choose from! Could it work?? Hey, with home-cooking
anything is worth trying once! I picked out strawberry. After
completing the first batch, I started melting butter and marshmallows
for a second time, this time sprinkling a third of the strawberry gelatin
pouch into the marshmallow/butter mixture stirring until well
combined. The color was awesome and it smelled amazing.
.
They worked out great and the possibilities are endless. I am looking
forward to trying out all different flavors. Lime, orange, cherry.....
Hope someone out there tries them with me! Happy Fathers Day weekend!

When I am baking nothing else matters. I have three
goals when I create food; 1. Presentation is huge,
create an art piece. 2. It better taste amazing!
make the mouth wonder, layer flavors. 3. Have

kitchen!
